Sterling Talent Solutions Will Be at Ontario Camps Association Conference

Sterling Talent Solutions is excited to be a vendor at the Ontario Camps Association (OCA) Annual Conference at the Hilton-Hotel-Markham in Markham, Ontario January 25th to 27th. The conference brings together camping professionals from Ontario and the world to meet, learn, share ideas, and experiences. OCA attendees will discuss the latest information on a variety of topics including health and safety compliance, hiring and training the best camp staff and how to work with camper and parent anxieties. There are breakout sessions throughout the events with experts encompassing the wide camping spectrum who combine real-world experience with practical takeaways.

About Ontario Camps Association

Since 1933, the OCA has been a leader in promoting and encouraging children and youth camping in Ontario. The OCA is “a voluntary, non-profit organization with membership from camps, individuals and like-minded organizations and agencies devoted to maintaining high standards for organized camping.” The mission of the organization is to support, advance, promote and accredit camps throughout Ontario. The OCA community of more than 600 members camp professionals working together to ensure the highest quality camp experiences for youth. Throughout the year, the OCA provides educational workshops for members on topics ranging from child development environment to health care and risk management.

There are over 400 OCA member camps that impact 300,000 children on a yearly basis. The camps include those that are privately owned, agency operated, religiously affiliated, special needs inclusive, overnight and day. The primary goal of the camps is to enable children to learn new skills, make friends and have fun in a safe, healthy and caring environment while also reassuring parents that the camps adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision and quality programming. The OCA adheres to strict standards to evaluate member camp excellence. For a camp to be OCA accredited it needs to follow over 400 standards that apply to camping, educational and well-being programs.
